Terry, who serves as our Firm's Care Coordinator, is licensed as an Independent Social Worker in the State of Ohio. She is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner. Terry holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of South Florida, a Master's Degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University, and a certificate in Elder Care Coordination from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. She has served in a number of social work capacities, including hospital discharge planner, hospice social worker, geriatric case manager, home care social worker, and as the Director of Social Services for an award-winning continuing care retirement community. In 2005, Terry was awarded the Outstanding Service Award by the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers at both the regional and state levels. She is a frequent public speaker on issues of interest to professionals in the field of aging and to the general public and has a special interest in ‘end of life’ issues. In her quest to find the best quality resources for our clients, Terry has personally visited over 300 service providers across Northern Ohio, assessing care provision and evaluating services. She is a member of the Medical Ethics Committee at Kendal at Oberlin and sits on the Advisory Council for Hospice of the Western Reserve. Terry is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and has been accepted to be part of the Social Work Expert Referral Database at NASW.
