Advocating for your Child in the School System

On Behalf of | May 13, 2021 | Special Education

As the school year is starting to wrap up, we know you super planners are already thinking ahead to next year and making sure that things get off to a good start for your child. Summer is a great time to sit back and review your documents, get organized, ask questions, do your research, make your plan, and gear up for 2021-22!

The attached article about advocating for your child in school (written by our very own Mary Jo O’Neill) is a wonderful resource for you. I suggest you read through it, then print it out and put it right into your child’s binder – yes that getting-fatter-by-the-minute binder that you keep all of the IEPs, ETRs, work samples and Procedural Safeguard notices in! We know you have one and if you don’t, maybe that’s a great summer project.

Let us know if there’s anything we can do to help you along the way, because wherever you are in your journey, we are here for you.
